Back to Skool :(

Sat Aug 29, 2009, 9:48 AM
Well, it's that time of year again. The doomed "Back to Skool" time.
Nobody likes this time except teachers because they get paid to be in skool.
There's my awesome fact of the day.

This summer for me wasn't a waster at all. I got to watch and experience a lot of new series in anime/manga, make better relationships, improve artistically, and just relax!
Let's see, here's some series I started...
-Black Cat (finished)
-Cowboy Bebop (My 3rd fav anime ever.)
-Code Geass (finished)
-Gurren Lagann (almost done!)
-School Rumble season 1 (Harima is the only reason)
-Avatar: TLA (Revisited)
-RomeoxJuliet (So good)
Trinity Blood (Didn't even bother to finish :P )

and SOUL EATER.
Best new thing out there right now.

Speaking of Soul Eater...

I went Ikasucon in Ft. Wayne, IN at the beginning of August with some friends. It was SO SMALL. I was amazed at the size because I'd only been to Anime Central in Chicago which is ginormous. But, I'd have to say that a small con definitely had its advantages.
The guests (who mattered, haha) were Travis Willingham ([link]) and Wendy Powell ([link]) from FUNimation. Those two were a RIOT. Wendy is an absolute joy to be around because of her "Texas-ness". And Travis is just a great storyteller and is also hilarious.

Well, one of the days, I walked into a "autograph session" with those two and about 10-15 people. They were just talking and signing anything. I asked Travis his shoe size so that I could make him a pair of shoes like my Soul Eater ones, but with his characters on them. He wanted know why, so I went up to him and showed them to him... He was absolutely shocked. He was practically yelling his approval, and there was me, silently fangirling cause one of my fav VAs was impressed with MY work... how crazy is that?!
So, needless to say, I'm making him a pair by his request.

There's my interesting story of the week.
Have a good start of the year everyone, and let's keep improving on our art!

Hey thanks so much! I really appreciate it.
Well, I just used a thicker PVC pipe than the one I used for the rod. I had to get a pipe connector thingy that makes it hook on, and this is actually very handy because the top part (the thick pipe, the blade, and the three-holed part) can come de-attatch from the rod, making it smaller.
Then I spray painted it silver and painted the eye on with other paint.
Hope that helps :)
